First Kiss? Yuck!

In Froggy's First Kiss by Jonathan London, Froggy gets a kiss in school!  I hope that never happens to me!  We like this book because Froggy is always funny and does silly things, especially around Frogilina. His cheeks turn red and he looks embarrassed about being in love! Yuck!  We love Froggy books, even about a kiss!

Can you whistle?

Whistle for Willie by Ezra Jack Keats is a great book if you can or can't whistle.  Peter tries and tries to whistle so he can call his dog.  The book is a lesson in grit.  Does he finally learn?  Read this book to find out!

We both love this book because Amelia is always doing something wrong that is funny!  In this book she is using her great baking skills to win a contest, but you know something will go wrong!  Read to find out what!

This book is one of our favorites!  We love Owen and everything he does in this story, especially when he puts his toy in the toilet!  Who wouldn't think that is funny?  Owen does not want to give up his fuzzy , yellow blanket, but he has to go to school.....What will he do?

Gingerbread Friends by Jan Brett.  Gingerbread Baby is running away from home to find friends and gets into a lot of trouble!  He tried to make friends at the bakery, but no one will talk to him.  He decides he should go home where Mattie has been all day long doing something special!  Read the book to find out what!

Woolbur written by Leslie Helakoski and illustrated by Lee Harper

We love Woolbur!  He is a great sheep and never does what everyone else does!  His Maaaaa and Paaaaa are worried the whole book, but his Grandpaaaaa is not!  Our favorite was when he died his own wool while it was still on his body!  Woolbur always does his own thing and we love him for that.

Tonight on the Titanic by Mary Pope Osborne

We love Magic Tree House books and this is one of our favorites!  This book is fiction ( it is a MAGIC tree house!) and Jack and Annie are on the Titanic when it is sinking!  They could not find the tree house and were worried about getting stuck there.  Read the book to find out what happens!

We love NONFICTION!

We love the book Dogs by Christina Wilsdon.  We both love dogs and we learned a lot while reading this book.  We think the pictures of the dogs are all very cute, especially the first one.  We loved the pictures of the puppies being born!  If you love dogs and want to learn more about them, read this book!

David Goes to School by David Shannon

One of our favorite books is David Goes to School.  We love this book because it shows David doing things he is not allowed to do and we can see why he is not a leader.  If we were David, we may have stayed outside after recess was over, too!  We love all the David books.  If you like to laugh, read this book!

You should read...

The Mitten by Jan Brett.  We love this book because it has SO many animals in the story.  They are all trying to fit into a mitten lost by a little boy and it gets bigger and bigger.  Can you believe a bear is in a mitten?  The best part was when the mouse tickled the bear's nose and made him sneeze and all the animals flew out of the mitten.  Read this if you love animals, too!

Giraffes Can't Dance by Giles Andreae and Guy Parker-Rees

We love the fiction book Giraffes Can't Dance!  We loved it when our teacher read it out loud to us and our favorite part was when he fell on his bottom!  We laughed so hard!  We love that the animals are all dancing and we believe that giraffes CAN dance!

We LOVE Pete the Cat!

You should read Pete the Cat Rocking in My School Shoes by Eric Litwin and James Dean because Pete goes everywhere in his school shoes.  We knew all the places he went because we have those places at our school, too.  Our favorite was recess!  We also love that he went to lunch.  Pete the Cat sings his song and we love to sing with him.

You should read...

Arthur's New Puppy by Marc Brown.  We think this book is very funny because Arthur forgets to lock the cage and the puppy gets out and chews on things.  Arthur has to train him and he works hard.  We think anyone who likes puppies or Arthur will love this book.
